Bihar DGP: As soon as senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Vinay Kumar took over as Director General of Police (DGP) in Bihar, the police has started taking action against criminals. The criminals started trembling as soon as they saw the police. A large number of criminals are surrendering out of fear. In the last 24, 218 attachment warrants have been executed in Bhagalpur, Banka, Navgachia. Maximum action of Bihar Police was seen in East Champaran where action was taken in more than 200 cases in just one day. Out of these, the houses of 83 criminals were confiscated.
What did DGP Vinay Kumar say while assuming the post?
While assuming charge, DGP Vinay Kumar had said that a campaign will be conducted to make all the arrests required under law and order. We will conduct a speedy trial and bring the criminals to justice. Only after this instruction, action has been started at the ground level in many districts of Bihar.
49 accused surrendered due to fear of attachment
In the last 24 hours, action has been taken against 210 absconding criminals in Motihari district. Motihari SP Swarna Prabhat said, ‘After receiving the order from the court, action was taken against 210 absconding criminals in the last 24 hours. In the course of attachment, action was taken to attach 83 houses while 49 accused surrendered due to fear of attachment. 12 absconding accused were arrested while 33 absconding accused were found dead against Kurki. Apart from this, 26 accused submitted bail papers.
SP had given ultimatum
SP Swarn Prabhat on Saturday released the list of top-100 criminals and gave them an ultimatum to surrender. He had clearly said that strict action will be taken against the criminals who do not surrender. After this, when the police started action with bulldozers on Tuesday, many criminals surrendered.
