WTC Final 2025: South Africa Secures Spot in ICC World Test Championship Final 2025

South Africa has become the first team to qualify for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2025, following a thrilling two-wicket victory over Pakistan in Centurion. ​​

Chasing a modest target of 148, South Africa faced a precarious situation at 99 for eight. A resilient unbeaten partnership between Kagiso Rabada (31*) and Marco Jansen (16*) guided the Proteas to victory. Earlier, debutant Corbin Bosch impressed with figures of 4/63, contributing to Pakistan’s first-innings collapse.

Under the leadership of Temba Bavuma, South Africa topped the WTC standings with a 66.67% win percentage, recording seven wins in 11 matches. Their journey included a series draw against India, a sweep by New Zealand, and subsequent victories against West Indies, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. ​​
