In Muzaffarpur, a former sarpanch was shot dead in the head. The deceased is Manoj Kumar, 37, son of Rampreet Prasad, who was also a wood businessman. Today at around 2 o’clock in the afternoon someone had called him to see the wood.
The deceased was the sarpanch of Koili Panchayat of Rampurhari police station area from 2016 to 2021. The incident took place near Chakki Dhab, which falls in Mahindwara area of Sitamarhi. Police have sent the body to SKMCH for postmortem

Deceased’s brother Ram Sakal Prasad told that Manoj used to do wood work. Used to run a plywood factory. Often one had to go to the neighboring area for wood. Today someone called on mobile and called Chakki Dhab to show the wood. He was shot there. By the time we reached there he died.
6 people from one village murdered in one year
JDU leader Manoj Kumar of Kharhar village said that there is an atmosphere of panic in the entire area. So far 6 people have been murdered in the village. All the people were shot dead. Till now the reasons for all the murders have not been known. There is a big question on the working style of the police. People are scared after the murder of 6 people from the same village within a year. Everyone had different businesses.
The case will be filed in the police station area where the incident took place.
Rural SP Vidya Sagar said that the former sarpanch of Kharhar village of Rampurhari police station area has been shot dead. The incident took place in Mahindwara police station area of Sitamarhi district.
The police there have been informed. The local people were planning to block the road, but they were pacified after convincing them. The bullet was fired in Mahindwara police station area, hence the case will be filed there. The deceased are residents of our area.
