LookBack Trends 2024: In the year 2024, gold has broken the record of 45 years. Gold prices have risen nearly 29% this year, the best performance since 2010. This increase is mainly due to interest rate cuts by central banks, global economic uncertainty, and weak performance of the dollar. Although some decline in prices was seen in November and December, overall gold has performed positively on an annual basis. This growth may continue in the next year 2025 also. Especially, if the global economic situation remains like this.
Rise in gold prices in Delhi
There has been a significant increase in the prices of gold in the bullion market of Delhi in 2024. On January 1, 2024, the price of 24 carat gold per 10 grams was approximately Rs 62,000, which reached Rs 79,653 by December 2024. During this time, global economic uncertainties and weakness in the dollar pushed gold prices upward.
Why did gold become expensive in the year 2024?
The fear of global inflation and recession in 2024 attracted investors towards safe investment options like gold. Gold prices rose due to the weakening of the US dollar, as it is valued in dollars. Strong demand for gold during the festival and wedding season in India also led to the rise in gold prices.
How expensive will gold be in 2025?
According to experts, gold prices are likely to remain high even in 2025. The price of gold in India reached Rs 79,653 per 10 grams by December 2024 and is now expected to cross Rs 80,000 in 2025. The reason for this is that central banks globally are increasing gold reserves. Due to reduction in interest rates, gold has become a safe investment option. The demand for gold has increased due to the ongoing tension in Ukraine and the Middle East. There may be an increase in purchase of gold for economic stability in countries like India and China.
