Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition launched: Bike gets three ABS riding modes with new paint scheme and graphics, priced at ₹ 1.67 lakh

Hero MotoCorp has launched the Dakar Edition of its offroad motorcycle XPulse 200 4V Pro in the Indian market. The offroad motorcycle comes with adjustable suspension and three ABS riding modes.

The special edition of the bike is based on the XPulse 200 4V Rally Pro, but it has been given a new paint scheme inspired by the Dakar Rally. There are some sporty black and red graphics on the bottom and side panels of the tank along with the Dakar Rally logo on either side of the fuel tank. Apart from this, there are no changes in the bike.

Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition has been priced at Rs 1,67,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is now the top variant in the XPulse 200 4V lineup. The XPulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition does not have direct competition with any bike, but in the adventure bike segment, it competes with other premium models like Suzuki V-Strom SX, KTM 250 Adventure, Yezdi Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.

Design: 60mm tall rally-style windshield

According to the company’s official website, the Hero XPulse 200 4V Dakar Edition gets a new 60mm tall rally-style windshield and a class-D LED projector headlamp with LED DRLs like the Pro variant. Along with this, the bike has been provided with updated luggage plate, handguard and USB charging port.

Performance: 18.8bhp power and 17.35Nm torque

For performance, the Hero XPulse 200 4V Dakar Edition, like other variants, has a 199.6cc valve oil-cooled BS6 4V engine, which generates maximum power of 18.8bhp at 8000rpm and 17.35Nm peak torque at 6500rpm. The engine is tuned with a 5-speed gearbox for transmission. This engine is E-20 petrol compatible with OBD-2 compliant.

Three new ABS riding modes have been added to the bike, which include Road, Off Road and Rally mode. Road mode is tuned for dry roads. In off-road mode, the power of ABS is reduced, with the help of which the bike can be ridden better on roads with sand, gravel and hilly areas. Whereas in rally mode ABS stops completely. The special thing is that it has only single-channel ABS mode.

Fully adjustable suspension will be available in Pro variant.

Hero XPulse 200 4V Dakar Edition bike has a fully adjustable suspension of 250 mm at the front and 220 mm at the rear. Due to the new suspension setup, it gets 270mm ground clearance and 891mm seat height. Along with this, extended gear lever and handlebar riser have been provided in the bike.
