Bihar Electricity Rate: If the price of oil and coal in Bihar increases or decreases, the electricity distribution companies of Bihar can increase or decrease the electricity rates on their own. Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission has given this right to South Bihar and North Bihar Power Distribution Company on 16 December. A formula for increasing and decreasing the rate has also been given to the companies. Under this formula, distribution companies will have to increase or decrease the rates.
The company will have to mention the increased or decreased rates in the electricity bill.
Let us tell you that the power company will review the prices of oil and coal every month. On that basis, it will decide to increase or decrease the rate. The company will have to mention the increased or decreased rate in the electricity bill of the month in which consumers will be charged higher or lower bills. If not mentioned, appropriate action can be taken by the Commission against electricity distribution companies.

The company has to submit a proposal every year
Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission asks for proposals from both the power companies of the state every year in the month of November. In the proposal, companies have to submit the audit report of the last year, the account of expenditure and income of the current year and the report of expenditure in the next year. After listening to the views of the common people and then evaluating the different proposals received from the power companies, the Commission gives its decision on the electricity rate. This decision remains in force for the next one year.
