BJP strongly attacked Priyanka Gandhi when she came to Parliament carrying a bag with Palestine written on it. BJP MP Sambit Patra said, Gandhi family has always been carrying the bag of appeasement. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said, “Palestine’ is written on Priyanka Gandhi’s bag, you can understand that she has no connection with India. Just a few days ago, ‘Italy’ was written on it and now it has ‘Palestine’ on it. Don’t know when India will be written. The one who does not have love for India, whose family members go around the world talking bad about India, bad about India’s democracy, bad about India’s constitutional structures, are not in favor of India. He is in favor of Palestine.”
On BJP’s reaction on BJP bringing a bag with ‘Palestine’ written in Parliament, Priyanka Gandhi said, “The atrocities being committed against minorities and Hindus in Bangladesh. Something should be done about this. This should be discussed with the Bangladesh government and they should not talk such nonsense.”
CPI leaders came out in support of Priyanka Gandhi
In support of Priyanka Gandhi, CPI MP P Sandosh Kumar said, “Carrying the Palestine bag is not Muslim appeasement. Those who link Palestine issue with Muslim issue are doing injustice because it is a humanitarian issue. “This is a real international issue that we should all support and CPI stands with Palestine.”
