Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first phase of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway on Tuesday. This expressway is an important project to complete the journey between Delhi and Dehradun in less time as well as to make the travel of passengers easier. Would like to tell that, after the inauguration of the first phase of this expressway, the road journey from Delhi to Dehradun will become safe and fast and will also be a great relief for the passengers. After the full opening of this expressway, passengers will get better connectivity as well as save time. The aim of this government project is to improve transportation as well as accelerate the economic development of the surrounding areas.
Asia’s longest 12 km long elevated wildlife corridor will be built on this expressway. From where wild animals can also be seen. This corridor will pass through Rajaji National Park. Many special provisions have been made in the construction of the entire corridor. In these, the route from Ganeshpur to Dehradun has been kept safe for wildlife. There is a provision to build 12 km elevated road, 6 animal underpasses, 2 elephant underpasses, 2 major bridges and 13 small bridges. 113 VUP (Vehicle Under Passes), LVUP (Light Vehicle Under Passes), SVUP (Small Vehicle Under Passes), 5 ROBs, 4 major bridges and 62 bus shelters are being constructed across the entire expressway. Along with this, 76 km service road, 29 km elevated road and 16 entry-exit points are also being built.
The distance between Delhi-Dehradun will remain only 210 km.
It currently takes 6.5 hours to go from Delhi to Dehradun by road. But, after the complete opening of this expressway, the distance between Delhi-Dehradun will be only 210 km and it will take only 2.5 hours to complete the journey. The first phase of the expressway, covering a distance of 31.6 km, is scheduled to be inaugurated on Tuesday. This expressway will start from Akshardham Temple in Delhi and connect to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Those going on this expressway from UP have been given an entry point near Mandola.
Length of expressway 210 kilometers
The length of this expressway is 210 kilometers, which is being built in four phases. In the first phase, from Akshardham to Eastern Peripheral Way (31.6 km). In the second phase, from Eastern Peripheral Way to Saharanpur Bypass (118 km). In the third phase, from Saharanpur Bypass to Ganeshpur (41.8 km) and in the fourth phase, from Ganeshpur to Asharodi Chowk Dehradun (19.785 km). This expressway is being constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 13 thousand crores.
Passengers will get all kinds of facilities
Passengers will get all kinds of facilities on Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. Commuters entering and exiting expressways in Delhi will not have to pay toll. It is claimed that this expressway will boost tourism and trade. Emergency services, restaurants and petrol pumps will be available on the expressway.
Special attention to environmental protection during construction of expressway
The special thing is that during the construction of this expressway, special attention has been paid to environmental protection, greenery will be seen here. Cameras will be installed at various places which will monitor the speed of vehicles and online challans will be sent for speeding vehicles.
This expressway will ease traffic on Delhi-Meerut Expressway
Apart from this, video incident detection systems will be installed. This system will send information to the control room in case of a road accident, so that relief and rescue work can be done in time. Passengers on the expressway can avail facilities like interchanges with stopovers, entertainment and refreshment areas at various places. This expressway will ease the traffic on Delhi-Meerut Expressway as it will have underpasses, flyovers and service roads at various places.
