There was blood coming out from his nose and mouth but there were no injury marks on his body. When the police searched the room, his telephone was hanging down with the help of a wire, hence his phone was getting engaged. As soon as the policemen came out of the room to investigate, Shahnaz Gul was lying unconscious outside. Seeing this, even the police were shocked because even the police was aware of the relationship between the two.

The book’s author Tooba Masood Khan told in an interview to Pakistani media that Shahnaz was immediately taken to Jinnah Hospital, along with her husband Salim. Here, regarding Zaidi’s body, the doctors gave a statement that he died 18-24 hours before the body was found.

Mustafa Zaidi was the District Commissioner of Lahore some time ago and was also a famous poet of Pakistan, hence this case became quite high-profile. Secondly, Shehnaz Gul was also found unconscious in his room, which added more complications to the case. Shehnaaz and Mustafa had a love affair despite being married. Mustafa was a resident of Allahabad, India. He started taking interest in poetry at an early age. He was a Marxist and had progressive thinking.

Then gradually these meetings started happening in private. Pakistani media, quoting book author Tooba Masood Khan, reported that some people believed that Mustafa Zaidi was murdered, while others said that Zaidi committed suicide.
