Patna: Chitragupt Nagar police station has raided shops in Bhattacharya Road and arrested three shopkeepers who were making fake high security number plates for money. Machines and stickers for making fake IND (High Security Number Plate) have been seized from the arrested shopkeepers. Not only this, the police have also recovered 244 finished and semi-finished number plates. The arrested shopkeepers include Guddu Kumar of Bypass, Baiju Kumar of Didarganj and Sanjay Kumar of Kadamkuan police station area. During interrogation, names of many more shopkeepers have come to light, in whose search the police is conducting raids. Even on Sunday, the police reached Bhattacharya Road to investigate, but found most of the shops there closed. This number plate was used in Chery’s bike or car before April 1, 2019. Earlier, Chitragupt Nagar police had arrested bike thief Avinash Kumar and a minor. Both of them are vicious members of the bike thief gang. Many more people are involved in their gang.
Number plates and stickers were being prepared by machine
When the police of Chitragupt Nagar police station raided, it was found that the shopkeeper was keeping a machine for making IND numbers. Not only this, duplicate stickers are also being made by machine. SHO Alok Kumar said that after purchasing a number plate, IND and stickers are first pasted on it. After this the number is written on it by the machine. After this, with the help of the machine, a sticker written India is cut and pasted on it. He told that the bike thief takes a picture of the same bike number and provides it to the shopkeeper and gives him Rs 400. After this the shopkeeper gives the IND number in just a few minutes.
Two people were arrested on Saturday
Police of Chitragupt Nagar police station caught an R-15 bike during vehicle checking in the city. A minor was driving this bike. When the police checked the high security number plate on that bike, they found out that it was a car number. At the same time, this R-15 bike belongs to Chandramani living in Noorsarai, which was stolen. The minor told that he had bought Cherry’s bike. Avinash, the bike seller, is a resident of Fatuha. Putna police raided Fatuha and arrested Avinash.
