Veteran director Shyam Benegal passes away, breathed his last at the age of 90….

Famous director Shyam Benegal died on Monday. He breathed his last at the age of 90. He was suffering from kidney related diseases for a long time. On Monday evening at around 6.30 pm, he said goodbye to the world forever. His daughter Piya Benigal confirmed this. Shyam Benegal was counted among the great directors. For his work, the Government of India honored him with Padma Shri in 1976 and Padma Bhushan in 1991. Was honored with Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Was also honored with ANR National Award in 2013. Apart from this, he had also been an MP of Rajya Sabha. Famous film director and screenwriter Shyam Benegal was honored with the National Film Award 8 times.
