Congress MP and Leader of opposition in Loksabha Rahul Gandhi posted on social media platform X, “The news of the demise of great tabla player Ustad Zakir Hussain is extremely sad. His demise is a big loss for the music world. My thoughts are with his family and fans in this sad time. Ustad Zakir Hussain has left behind a legacy of his art which will always live in our memories.”
Zakir Hussain dies at the age of 73
India’s famous tabla player Zakir Hussain passed away at the age of 73. Zakir Hussain breathed his last in San Francisco. Zakir Hussain worked with many international and Indian artists in his career spanning six decades. He worked with eminent artists of India including Ravi Shankar, Ali Akbar Khan and Shivkumar Sharma in his career.
